Psalm 71:5 “For Thou art my hope, O Lord God; Thou art my trust from my youth.”
This verse reminds us that from our earliest beginnings we have opportunity to place our lives and our fortunes in God’s keeping. We need to reflect on the way God leads and shepherds us as we move steadily on in life, counting on His faithfulness, His promises, and yes, even His chastisements.
God is always prepared to hear our prayers. He is truly our hope and our trust. He will never desert us for He stands beside us, covers us with His wings of love, and encourages us with His Holy Spirit.
Prayer: Lord, help us to trust You more deeply and confidently affirm with the Psalmist: “Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, Who only doeth wondrous things.” (Psalm 72:18)
